A new landmark marina development will transform the gateway to Ambleside. The new, purpose-designed marina will replace a disused petrol filling station and run-down buildings with a state-of-the-art marina and new lakefront homes.
After years of planning and refining the best design, the stunning new marina development has received full approval from the Lake District National Park planning authority.
The development will clear the existing property, removing the petrol station buildings and dilapidated wooden jetties. The new marina will bring a contemporary Lakeland-style design statement to the site and create a bold and impressive gateway on the southern approach road to Ambleside.
The development will include seven luxury two-story homes, including 5, 4 or 2 bedrooms. The properties are planned with garages or turntables for vehicle access to the B591.
The new marina will provide berthing for 47 boats, moored to state-of-art fully-serviced floating pontoons. The scheme also includes owner facilities with lounge and showers plus a marina office to support operations.
Car parking for boat owners will serve the new marina on the opposite side of the B591
